Welcome to Vancouver BC

We arrived in Vancouver in the late afternoon.  Our hotel was located in the Yaletown district of Vancouver Island. There were 35 in our travel group. A few of us decided to take a walk over the Granville Street Bridge to have dinner.  It was a beautiful warm evening.

Being typical tourists, we walked over the Burrard Bridge, instead of the Granville Street Bridge.  I was able to get this photo of the Yacht Harbor Point taken from the Burrard Bridge.

The Granville Island Public Market is Vancouver’s premier food destination for locals and visitors alike! You will find the widest selection of seafood, produce, butchers, bakeries, charcuterie, cheese, confections, and much more!

We stopped for dinner at The Sandbar – it was crowded for a Monday night. The food was delicious after a long travel day.

We caught the False Creek Ferry back to our hotel. It was a lovely way to start our visit to Vancouver!

Getting to Granville Island:  Take Bus #50 over the bridge to the Granville Market stop (it drops you nearly under a bridge) and walk-in.  You can catch the sightseeing Aqua bus from the pier market.
